CHURCHILL WAR ROOMS
London | Completed January 2005

The Churchill Museum at the Churchill War Rooms allows visitors from all over the world to walk in the footsteps of Winston Churchill and experience what life would have been like during the Second World War. Situated in the heart of London’s Whitehall, the museum has been welcoming visitors for over 20 years. Greenway Associates were the Quantity Surveyors for this iconic permanent display.

OUR ROLE

Mark Greenway, founder of Greenway Associates, served as the lead Quantity Surveyor for the historic addition of the Churchill Museum to the what was previously called, the Cabinet War Rooms.

This exhibition was one of our very first permanent displays, and was completed over 20 years ago!

It is still considered one of the top destinations in London, and we are still working on exhibitions and galleries with the Imperial War Museum.

THE EXHIBITION

The Churchill Museum, located within the Churchill War Rooms in London, is a dedicated space that delves into the life and legacy of one of Britain's most iconic leaders, Winston Churchill. Offering an immersive and comprehensive look at his extraordinary career, personal life, and enduring impact on the world, the museum includes a wealth of artifacts such as personal letters, photographs, and clothing.

One of the highlights is the Lifeline, an interactive 17-metre timeline that allows visitors to explore key events and moments in Churchill's life. The museum also features a collection of his speeches and writings, showcasing his exceptional ability to communicate and inspire during pivotal moments. Through interactive exhibits and multimedia displays, visitors can delve into the nuances of his leadership and the values he championed.

THE EXHIBITION 20 YEARS ON

Here at Greenway Associates, we feel so privileged to have worked on a permanent display that has served the UK and visitors to London, for almost 2 decades. We recently visited to see how the exhibition is faring and are pleased to share the following comparison:
