SPOTLIGHT ON: Museum + Heritage Show 2021

The Museums + Heritage Show is always in the diary for anyone who works in the UK's Culture industry. But this year, it was sadly cancelled, and has been postponed to 12-13 May 2021.

Nevertheless, the hard working team at M+H have come together with the partners, to deliver free online sessions for all. Most of the online talks were programmed before the pandemic, but have been updated to include help and support for the new normal we collectively face as an industry.

The online talks include topics such as Community-led Curation and even a crash course in Podcasting for Museums and Heritage organisations.

All exhibitors for the 2020 show are now listed online in a useful directory too - a great resource in itself. The list features everything from Designers to Fit Out specialists, AV producers to Document & Book Scanners. With the increase in free timed ticketing solutions that will now be required in many attractions, we were interested by Devon-based company Digitickets, as well as show sponsor and contactless ticketing solution, TYG Tickets who are based in Cumbria.

With the future of VR/AR remaining to be seen, we were also interested in market leaders AlfaVision from Belgium, and Anansi from the UK. They both specialise in building applications for VR/AR. Anansi’s applications for history lessons allow a student to experience what it was like if you stood at the same spot in the past and witnessed a historic moment using augmented reality, enabling historic events to be recreated in virtual reality at history lessons.

We’re looking forward to attending the next M+H Show next year. Why not register and put it in your diary?
