LONDON LOVES: The Lighting @ 1Rebel Victoria
Leaving the noisy streets around Victoria station to enter 1Rebel Victoria is a instant mood transformer. One step through 1Rebel’s doors leads you into the lit up world of ‘RIDE’ - their signature bike class that combines elite trainers, elite bikes and a killer lighting scheme.
Spread over 3 levels, the studio has a foyer area that makes you feel like you’re on a space craft. The reception zone is skillfully backlit with white neon through a metal grated geometric structure. But it doesn’t stop there.
The main lighting event happens inside the studio, which simply can’t be described in words. But essentially, its a nightclub, on a bike. You’ll just have to watch the video or experience it for yourself.
The lighting scheme was designed by the incredibly talent ‘lumitect’ Durham Marenghi - who is also renowned for his lighting displays at the occasional Olympic ceremony or two! We came across Durham Marenghi in our work with the IOC on The Olympics Museum and some other Olympic projects in the pipeline.
As a side note, we’re also pretty impressed to see the refit work that 1Rebel has done post Covid-19 restrictions.
Is your business currently refitting public spaces in order to make the visitor experience safer? If so, get in contact with us. We would be happy to consult on these projects.
